Resort Description

Sunset Resort is located directly on the beach set amongst tropical gardens. With only 35 suites and studios Sunset Resort features all the services you would expect from a larger resort but comes with a relaxed island atmosphere. The absolute beachfront location offers a quiet peaceful experience to relax, unwind and recharge. The suites and studios are located either beachfront or beside one of the two swimming pools set amongst beautiful gardens. With paved pathways throughout the resort we offer two ground floor suites that have accessible facilities and can accommodate people with mobility limitations. All rooms have air-conditioning and insect screens.

Eco-Friendly

Rarotonga is a special place and Sunset Resort aims to protect and minimise the impact on the precious resources. The goal is to reduce waste to the landfill and use of fossil fuels without compromising our guests. The Resort is:

• Providing filtered and UV treated water suitable to drink

• Heating water with solar energy

• Guests can choose to reuse linen or have it changed daily

• Treating and using grey water for irrigation on the gardens

• Crushing most glass bottles to sand

• Recycling food waste, plastics and cardboard

Refreshments and Dining on the site

The Birdcage Bar is located pool-side and offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails in the late afternoon. Relax by the pool or “in” the pool with your refreshment of choice. A great place unwind, relax and meet other guests at the end of the day.

The Anchorage Restaurant & Bar is an island style open air restaurant and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week. Your complimentary daily tropical breakfast is served in The Anchorage. The restaurant is fully licenced, features full bar service and some nights live local entertainment.

The resort, set on the western side of Rarotonga, is only minutes from colourful Avarua township. The secluded beachfront location provides guests with an unhindered view of Rarotonga’s emerald lagoon.
